🔎 Abstract
Body-worn electronic device for tracking people or animals indoors and outdoors. It integrates GPS for outdoor positioning, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi for indoor positioning, and a GPRS module for data transmission. Auxiliary sensors—compass, barometric altitude, temperature, gyroscope, and accelerometer—are used to optimise both energy consumption and the quality of the positioning information. The form factor can be a bracelet, shackle, or necklace, implemented as a combined hardware/software system.
